Personal View:

I got this copy from Barns and noble (same time I bought Volumes 4-17) in store for $9.99 plus tax, it's priced the same online. Unless you would like it for a Nook I believe its $5.99. The ranged age hasn't been change "Older teen 16+". This time we have Zenki on the cover, showing off his sealing tattoos. With a beautiful green coloring with black. I wonder who else we will be getting to see with their owe cover artwork. Man the clarity in these books is amazing.

(Vol. 12 Chapter 44 Going into Battle)

We're still in the village of Lord Kyo's hometown, now that Ayame has moved into the mansion with everyone else. Lady Misao has someone to spend time with, so that she's not so lonely. Ayame is kinda like Lady Misao's maid, but her only duty is keeping her company. The only person left behind is Hoki cause he was injured early in the fight with the Nue.

Once everyone has departed Lord Kyo's grandfather puts up a protective shield. But some children get stuck in the shield, Lady Misao has them remove it to save the children. When this happens Lord Sho takes his opportunity to try and take Lady Misao away. Hoki tries his best to defend the mansion from the attackers. Even though he's still badly injured. Lord Sho is confronted with Ayame, she refuses to allow anything to happen to Lady Misao. Using her own body as a shield even with Lord Sho trying to play a mind game with her. Saying that her husband has fallen. She still wont give in, doing so Ayame is struck down by Lord Sho. Lord Sho scenes the barrier going back up into place and runs off.

Now I understand why Sagami an Ayame have this bond of a promise to each other. They both only want to protect whats most precious to them, making it a personal duty. When ever they part from each other its pretty much like their saying goodbye "for good" because one might not return to the other. Man!! That totally sucks booty, yet a very great admiration they have for each other. That's why to me at least its completely cute when ever they meet again cause Ayame goes completely over board with joy an happiness. Such a great couple!! Poor Lady Misao, she feels so terrible about Ayame being hurt.

Upon everyone's return Zenki is talking to the priest about adding more tattoos with the priest to help keep his aura in check. To funny thought that Lord Kyo thinks Zenki is flirting with Lady Misao with his shirt off. I swear most of the time these two ever talk their yelling at each other!! Their relationship isn't quite like a master an servant at all. They act more like brothers. Lady Misao just walks away like "What ever!!"

Later though Zenki goes over to Lord Sho's to try and infiltrate it. An is taken hostage, an weakened so that Lord Sho might release Zenki's power that he'll go into a chaotic rampage in the village. That Lord Kyo will have no choice but to strike him down to save everyone. Big SHOCKER Hoki has switched sides!! This is going to get very interesting people!! Can't wait to see what the next volume holding.
